How to Make a Simple Research Paper in Just 10 Minutes Note: This is a quick workflow for creating a basic research paper draft. It is not a substitute for conducting genuine research or following academic integrity guidelines.
Step 1: Use LaTeX
Use Overleaf (https://overleaf.com) to write your paper in LaTeX. It automatically formats your paper professionally and supports most IEEE, ACM, and journal templates.
Step 2: Find a Research Topic
Go to Google Scholar and:
Search for your topic.
Read a few papers to understand the problem.
See what solutions already exist.
Think about what you can improve or approach differently.
If someone has already researched the topic, don't just copy it. Use your own thinking and write down new ideas on paper or in a notebook.
Step 3: Organize Your Ideas
Open Notepad (or any text editor) and write everything in simple language.
Include:
Problem Statement
Your Proposed Solution
Methodology
Expected Results
Experimental Setup (if applicable)
Conclusion
Future Work
Don't worry about grammar at this stage—just get your ideas down.
Step 4: Prepare Supporting Material
Create:
3–4 graphs (Excel works well)
Tables for results
Flowcharts or architecture diagrams using Excalidraw
Any additional figures needed to explain your solution
Step 5: Use an AI Assistant
Provide your notes, graphs, and diagrams to Claude (or another capable AI model).
Example prompt:
This is my research topic, findings, diagrams, graphs, and expected results. My name is [Your Name], my email is [Your Email], and my department is [Your Department, College Name]. Please write a complete Harvard-style research paper and generate the full LaTeX source code suitable for Overleaf.
Step 6: Generate the Paper
The AI should produce:
Title
Author information
Abstract
Keywords
Introduction
Literature Review
Methodology
Results
Discussion
Conclusion
References
Complete LaTeX code
Step 7: Open Overleaf
Visit overleaf.com.
Create a blank project.
Paste the generated LaTeX code.
Compile the document.
That's it—you'll have a professionally formatted research paper draft.
Important
This workflow is intended to speed up writing and formatting, not to fabricate research. Your paper should contain your own ideas, experiments, analysis, and properly cited references. AI can help organize and polish your work, but the research itself should be original.
